Where does the time go?

It seemed like yesterday I gave birth to my second son and yesterday I saw him receive his HS diploma. Taylor has grown up and made Jeff and I proud, so proud to be called his Mom and Dad.
God blessed us when he gave us this precious boy, but now he is a man. He will soon leave our home, and will be attending the University of Northern Iowa to study biology.

My Cinderella

We volunteered at the United Tour concert and had a great night listening to Steven Curtis Chapman and M.W Smith. We worked with Emily Chapman and she was so incredibly kind to Caeleigh.Caeleigh also got to dance with her daddy when he sang Cinderella. And the end of the night we were pleasantly surprised to meet SCC. They were a very real family, who obviously has suffered greatly this last year. We are so thankful for the help they gave us in bringing Caeleigh home, and for the heart they have for the 143 million orphans in the world. May God bless thir ministry and their family as they continue to grieve the loss of their precious daughter.
So now Caeleigh loves the song Cinderella and calls it,"her song".When I was carpooling this morning I heard her telling her 4 yr old friend all about "her song". Then she sang it for us all the way to preschool.

What A Pleasure it has been...

...to have Caeleigh Elizabeth-Xinke join our family. Today we celebrate our two year "Gotcha Day"!!! When I told Caeleigh what we were celebrating, she asked,"Now do I have to go back to China? And with a big smile I said," Never,Never, not in a million years will we let go of you!!!" You are ours forever!!
She gave me a great big smile and hug.

I am a proud mom

Taylor had awards night last night and his Dad and I were very proud of him. He received !st team all District, and an award for the most tackles in 3A. 148 tackles in a season. He also got a academic award. So we were very proud of him.

But I am most proud of him for how he has embraced and loved his new sister this last year. Jeff and I never could have imagined our older boys embracing Caeleigh the way Ryan, Alec and Taylor have embraced her. They have loved her so much. It has been fun to watch them!!!

God has been good!!

They guessed my age at 26!!

Someone found out it was my Birthday today and they guessed my age at 26!!No they did not have dementia, but they were 100 years old with very poor eye sight. I had a great laugh out of that.
The real # is 49 and I am not a bit embarrassed by it.

Jeff and I had a great day of shopping, I shopped, he read a book. When I went into Eddie Bauer, the lady was trying to get me to buy a vest, she says,"these are so in style, you just have to have one," I looked out over my glasses,(Now that I can no longer see) and said, I truly do not care what is in style, look at me, I'm 49.

My boys always ask me,Why are you on a diet? You are old and you cares what you look like. My usual response is," I do not want you to have to buy a extra large casket. So you have it.

I am old and it is O.K. with me.
